Guidelines for Reviewing a Legal Framework for Elections

These guidelines are intended to set forth the basic components of a legal framework governing elections that are necessary for a country's legal framework to ensure democratic elections.

These guidelines are intended to set forth the basic components of a legal framework governing elections that are necessary for a country's legal framework to ensure democratic elections. They are further intended to provide the examiner of the legal framework with an approach that will contribute to uniformity, reliability, consistency, and accuracy in the review of election-related texts. These guidelines will also provide guidance to national parliaments in the drafting or amending of election-related texts.
