Overview
The project is enhancing the implementation of the OSCE’s 16 cyber/ICT security confidence-building measures (CBMs) by providing support to OSCE participating States (pS) in their efforts to operationalize CBMs on a national and regional level.
Project activities are aimed at identifying and addressing existing gaps in CBM implementation through a range of capacity-building initiatives. These include regional workshops, specialized training courses, study visits, as well as the development of lasting project outputs, such as reports, studies and e-learning courses. Through this series of activities, the project supports the further development of cyber/ICT security capacities in selected sub-regions and advances pS’ understanding of the United Nations framework for responsible State behavior in cyberspace.
The project particularly supports pS which have joined the ‘Adopt a CBM initiative’, launched under OSCE Informal Working Group established by Permanent Council Decision no 1039. Under this pillar, the project team develops proposals for customized activities and delivers them in close co-operation with the pS.
