OSCE regional event on strengthening youth resilience to organized crime and corruption in South-Eastern Europe

OSCE regional event focused on youth resilience to organized crime and corruption in South-Eastern Europe, held in co-operation with the 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship of North Macedonia (CiO) and the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC). It highlights the key takeaways and outcomes of discussions, among others emphasizing the central role of education, positive role models and life skills development to foster a culture of lawfulness among young people, as well as the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement and meaningful youth participation in decision-making. It underscores the significance of addressing these issues collectively to empower young individuals, protect their communities, and build a resilient society. The regional event was held in the framework of the OSCE-wide multi-year project “Enhancing youth crime and drug use prevention through education on legality and awareness campaigns addressing threats of organized crime and corruption” funded by Italy.
